Originally founded in 1797 as a farm school for local poor and orphaned children, John de la Howe School has evolved into a first-rate, child caring agency committed to meeting the behavioral, educational, and social needs of the children in its care.

Established through the will of Dr. John de la Howe, a prominent area physician and civil servant, John de la Howe School is located on 1200 scenic acres along the Heritage Corridor on Lake Thurmond in McCormick County, South Carolina.

REPORT WASTE, FRAUD AND ABUSE

In accordance with Section 1-6-90 of the 1976 South Carolina Code of Laws, As Amended, the State Inspector General must establish a toll-free public telephone number for the purpose of receiving information concerning fraud, waste, abuse, mismanagement, misconduct, violations of state or federal law, and wrongdoing in an agency.  The phone number must be prominently posted by all agencies, in clear view of all employees and the public, and in a conspicuous location on the agency's Internet website.
